Her brothers invaded Athens and brought her home where she is married off to Menelaus who, from what we can tell, is old and gross.

Enter Paris, young and beautiful. What happens next is sometimes defined as an unwilling rape of Helen by Paris, or an abduction. Either way so far the men in her life are total charmers. So Helen may or may not have been raped, was then abducted and taken to troy. Menelaus is pissed. Begin the Trojan war. All the fighting and death that her admirers caused leaves Helen feeling responsible and history labeling her a whore.
