I created my first portrait piece as a way of restructuring the way I felt about myself. After the most horrific experience of my life and a lifetime of being taken advantage of I got fed up. I was sick of seeing my Vulva as a piece of trash, sick of identifying it with decay and sadness. I wouldnt even touch my Vulva when I was I was so completely fed up.
I created a Portrait Pendant for myself, to help me see my Vulva as she was. At first I hated her, but as the weeks went by I began noticing things that I loved, that curve or that pretty color. After a few weeks I was able to see her as something beautiful. Even better I was able to recognize that she was a part of my body: not an ill omen, a decaying part of my body.. not even a black hole.
I create these pieces with hope that they will do all of that and more for you.
