According to the Roman poet Ovid’s epic Metamorphoses, when the Trojan’s ships burned during the Trojan War, their wood transformed into the bodies of sea goddesses - or as Ovid described them, the “green daughters of the sea”- and mermaids were born.

This mermaid pendant is sculpted in magical shades of green, silver and purple. Her outer labia are set with hand detailed scales, kissed with iridescent blues, purples and silver. Her inner labia are detailed to mimic the markings of wood grain, the remnants of her maritime origins.

The model for this piece is Lula.
Never made with a mold. Each Vulva pendant is the hand-sculpted clay original. We prefer clay to resin for its fleshy look and texture.

Because women don’t normally have a visual reference for what is normal ‘down there’. We can’t even see what we have! When we do have a visual reference it generally comes from porn in which women are chosen based on the shape of their Vulvas and are bleached, dyed, shaved and surgically altered. Porn Vulvas are like Ligers, they do not exist in the natural world.
We use real models to show women that no matter the shape every woman is beautiful. We use real models to show women there is no standard Vulva: they are all different and perfect as is. Bleaching is NOT required.
