Ondines may have served as prototypes for mermaids. Like mermaids, they possess beautiful singing voices and are said to live forever.
The Curse of Ondine is a term for a fatal form of sleep apnea. In the story, Sleep of Ondine, the water nymph caught her human husband with another woman. She cursed him saying, “For as long as you are awake, you shall breathe. But should you ever fall into sleep, that breath will desert you.” When he could no longer stay awake and succumbed to sleep, he died.
Ondine is sculpted in divine shades of pale cream, kissed with gold iridescence . She is set into a beautiful pearled shell and hung from a long brass chain.

The model for this piece is Marissa.
Never made with a mold. Each Vulva pendant is the hand-sculpted clay original. We prefer clay to resin for its fleshy look and texture.

Because women don’t normally have a visual reference for what is normal ‘down there’. We can’t even see what we have! When we do have a visual reference it generally comes from porn in which women are chosen based on the shape of their Vulvas and are bleached, dyed, shaved and surgically altered. Porn Vulvas are like Ligers, they do not exist in the natural world.
We use real models to show women that no matter the shape every woman is beautiful. We use real models to show women there is no standard Vulva: they are all different and perfect as is. Bleaching is NOT required.
